April STEM Activities
April is the perfect time to add some hands-on STEM fun to your classroom curriculum. The following activities are some of my favorite Earth Day and spring inspired STEM activities that are sure to get students engaged!
For this first activity students create a bird feeder out of recyclables. This is the perfect STEM activity to include in your Earth Day unit as students learn how to recycle by repurposing objects such as plastic water bottles to create their bird feeders.
Another fun spring inspired STEM activity is build a Peep tower. For this STEM challenge students must build the tallest tower using only Peeps and toothpicks.
The egg launcher is another spring inspired STEM activity that is sure to be a student favorite! For this STEM activity students must build a catapult to launch a plastic egg the farthest distance.
Don't let this last STEM challenge fool you. Although it may look easy, it is definitely a challenge. For this activity students must build an egg tower for their Peep using only Play-Doh and eggs. The tallest egg tower that stands on its own will be declared the winner.
All of these April STEM Challenges are bundled together at a discounted price and include teacher and student directions as well as student planning and reflection sheets.
