Silent Jingle Bells December Christmas STEM Acitivity

Make learning fun with this Christmas STEM Challenge!

Students receive a letter from the STEM Elf that Santa needs their help to figure out how to silence the jingle bells on his sleigh so that he is not so easily detected.

This activity helps students develop critical thinking and engineering skills. It's an excellent engaging activity for students to work on before Christmas break!

Students plan, design, and execute their own ideas. After they have completed their activity, there is time for reflection on what worked and what didn't.

What Teachers are Saying About this STEM Resource:

"My first graders loved trying to make the jingle bell silent! It was a great activity that got them thinking! I allowed them to cut or tear the materials, so we ended up with lots of little pieces of tinsel on the floor. I gave them each some thick masking tape and they had a ball cleaning it up. I'm looking forward to doing this again next year!" - Patrice P.

"So fun! Funny thing - The children couldn't make the bell stop jingling so they put all the stuff back in the ornament and didn't put the bell. I guess that's one way to make the jingle bell not ring. Thanks - this was fun!" - Patricia M.

"My kindergarten through fifth grade students LOVED this! Thank you!" - Michelle R.

"I'm new into the STEM activities so this was a very easy and laid out activity to do with the class. The materials you need are an easy grab and the journal writing was an excellent way to monitor and hold accountability for the students." - Chelsea L.
