Martin Luther King Jr. (Integrated Math, Reading, and Writing Activities Included!)

Students receive a letter from Martin Luther King Jr. giving facts about his life and instructing students to create a podium that he will use to deliver his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. A fun and engaging MLK Day activity!

Includes writing pages for students to write about their dreams. Math activities are included as well that cover geometry standards including 2D and 3D shapes, shape attributes (faces, edges, and vertices), as well as area and perimeter.

This activity helps students develop critical thinking and engineering skills. Students plan, design, and execute their own ideas. After they have completed their activity, there is time for reflection on what worked and what didn't.

Aligns with NGSS(Next Generation Science Standards).
